Cityline was implemented by WMS in a warehouse of safe custody

On August 1, 2016 the Axelot company announced implementation of "1C: WMS" in a warehouse of safe custody of Cityline company.

Project Tasks

In the territory of the customer's warehouse at the same time there can be several groups of goods of different bailors, for example:

  • home appliances,
  • children's goods,
  • confectionery goods, etc.

To optimize use of warehouse space, to exclude errors on all processing stages of goods which reason the human factor is, to increase performance of work of a warehouse and quality of order processing, the company planned implementation of WMS.

The company management defined several tasks: it is necessary to separate warehouse topology into zones under each bailor. it was required to automate all basic warehouse processes:

    • acceptance,
    • placement,
    • selection,
    • shipment of goods,
    • carrying out inventory, etc.,
    • to configure an optimal assembly procedure of orders.

It was required to reduce dependence on personnel of a warehouse.

Taking into account storage in a warehouse of different types of goods, it was required to organize the procedure of assembly taking into account their specifics:

  • expiration dates,
  • serial numbers,
  • batches.

It was also required to provide transparency of a remaining balance of goods in a warehouse by different characteristics, to adjust transparent accounting of 3PL-services and to automate settlement with bailors.

For implementation the company selected the 1C: WMS Logistics. Warehouse Management 4.0 software product. System implementation was executed by Axelot company.

Project Results

System implementation of automation and according to the results of a complex of works optimizes selection of goods taking into account requirements of bailors, use of warehouse space is organized, calculation of cost of services for partners is structured.

In addition to the works connected directly with implementation of the WMS system within the project integration of "1C: WMS" with a corporate information system "1C: Trade Management" by means of the software product "AXELOT is carried out : ESB Service data bus".

Use of the integration solution increased the overall performance of information circuit and provided stability of data exchange between WMS and PUSSYCATS. Costs for administration of information infrastructure are reduced, and the open code of the implemented products allows making changes in logic of systems without involvement of the company Axelot as developer.

After automation of a warehouse a system controls the entering goods flow according to quality and quantity characteristics. Placement of the accepted goods, to storage areas of each of bailors is automatically planned. The goods can be shipped both on batches, and by the principle of FEFO taking into account special customer requirements to remaining balance of expiration dates and series.

Performance of work of a warehouse and quality of order processing increased, accounting of 3PL-services is automated and transparent document flow with bailors is adjusted. The management of a warehouse had a possibility of control of development of employees that promoted creation of more effective system of motivation.
