Intergraph SmartPlant Review

SmartPlant Review is the visualization environment, it is intended for interactive viewing 3D models when maintaining the technical analysis of a subject to design or construction.

SmartPlant Review scope — management of project activity in the organizations including having the complex geographically distributed structure. A system can be used in processes and procedures - components of basic process of design:

• monitoring of execution by the project organization (several organizations, branches deleted with divisions) of works on design of a construction object;
• the check of technical solutions allowing to reveal errors and collisions on early blueprint stages;
• verification of project solutions on compliance to technical specifications;
• tracking of work plans at a stage of construction of the facility for the purpose of their adjustment;
• acceptance of the project upon completion of project works.

Basic functionality

• providing shared access to a 3D model and remote collective viewing;
• visualization of stages of construction;
• generation of sketches of projections of a 3D model to the plane;
• creation of photorealistic presentation materials;
• annotation of project documents;
• preliminary simulation of installation works for the purpose of identification of collisions and optimization of execution of works.

Main modules

• the module API is the open program interface for creation of superstructures (plug-ins) to SmartPlant Review;
• the module Collaboration is joint viewing a 3D model by remote users (they can be in geographically spaced places);
• the module Construction is construction process simulation;
• the module On-Site Drawing Generation is joint work with Intergraph SmartSketch for creation of two-dimensional drawings and drawings;
• the module Photo-Realism is creation of photorealistic images and presentation materials;
• the module Simulation and Visual Effects — 3D - animation;
• the module Point Cloud Integrator is integration of model with a cloud of the points received at three-dimensional laser scanning of the existing objects;
• the module Publisher is converting of the CAD formats in the SmartPlant Review format.

SmartPlant Review 2012

For October, 2013 the version of SmartPlant Review 2012 had additional opportunities^[1]:

• SmartPlant Review 2012 supports MSI Installer;
• several copies of SmartPlant Review 2012 can work along with one model;
• function of object search for a 3D model is improved — it became more convenient for users;
• users can change an initial format of units of measure in a standard collection of measurements. In the new version the standard collection of measurements configured by the user can be used on the different SmartPlant Review 2012 projects;
• the version received function by means of which it is possible to export a 3D model to the PDF format for viewing it in free means — Adobe Reader (earlier this function was implemented only via the additional software of third-party producer — CaXperts);
• the feature for export only of those objects which are displayed in a primary window is added. The user of SmartPlant Review 2012 can save "a part of a 3D model" from the selected set of objects having the general signs (in terminology of Intergraph — Display set company);
• now text summaries can be multiline.
• SmartPlant Review 2012 supports a system of calendar resource planning of Primavera P6 Release 8.1 for simulation of process of construction of the project.

Additional in animation and simulation of SmartPlant Review 2012

• in SmartPlant Review 2012 for animation of object groups the virtual path of movement is displayed;
• in SmartPlant Review 2012 there are three types of animation:
• Display Set animation — for 3D model object groups,
• Key Frame animation — classical animation of the virtual camera on the key personnel,
• Schedulle Review animation — construction process simulation.

In the version of SmartPlant Review 2012 the tool for animation playing — Animation Player appeared (instead of Motion toolbar). It is possible to select different types of the animation created by the user from the options Animation player. Besides, this tool provides a possibility of a miscalculation and record in the AVI video format.

Functionality on work with object groups of SmartPlant Review 2012

Creation of object groups

In the version of SmartPlant Review 2012 it is possible to select objects using the Ctrl keyboard shortcut, standard for Windows, + and to create an object group (Dispay Set).

The created object group can be moved, using standard drag-and-drop and to trace a route.

The animated simulation of object groups

The important SmartPlant Review 2012 function is a possibility of the simultaneous animated simulation of an object group. Unlike the previous version, there is an opportunity to watch "filling" of model all elements at the same time when moving on a time axis.

Fast display of structure of an object and object groups

SmartPlant Review 2012 supports a command of a quick selection (QuickPick) at which accomplishment and guidance of the cursor on the object having complex structure in the appeared window the structure of an object is listed. For an object group (Display Set) this function is also supported.

Performance improvement and high-speed performance

Performance of work of SmartPlant Review 2012 is higher, than at the previous version. File size of databases decreased and the speed of its creation increased.

SmartPlant Review 2012 allows to solve problems of visualization for assessment, approvals and acceptances of project and technical and management decisions in design process, constructions, operation and upgrade of an object. At the same time the described software develops. SmartPlant Review 2012 has modules and subsystems which use together with in parallel the developing means (a CAD, 3D - scanners, technologies of visualization, etc.) is capable to give big effect.
