In ALTGTU implemented a new storage system

"the STC of Galex" executed delivery and commissioning of a storage system for the Altai state technical university of I.I. Polzunov.

New educational standards dictate new requirements to IT infrastructure of university. Rapid growth of volumes of the stored and processed information resulted in need of reorganization of a storage system. Increase in the disk array as became the capacity of the used DWH insufficiently for activity of the university was the main task at the same time.

"According to new the rules assuming big openness of process of protection of theses, ALTGTU will organize video broadcasts of protection in the Internet and storage of videos. It is very large volume of information with which processing and storage the existing DWH did not cope", - Evgeny Borovtsov, the head of department of system support of Data centers of ALTGTU comments.

"The set DWH totally gives to university 75 TB not distributed disk spaces. And it allows to solve the main task of higher education institution – obtaining additional capacity. Besides, the installed system allows to increase significantly reliability of information storage and to simplify process of administration of DWH", - Uvarov Rodion, the head of the sales department "STC of Galex" told.
