Huawei FusionStorage is the software-defined distributed cloud storage.
2019: Huawei FusionStorage 8.0
On February 25, 2019 the Huawei company provided the convergent distributed storage for DPC of FusionStorage 8.0. The solution is based on the principle "One DPC – one storage" and will help clients from the different industries, including telecommunications and finance, to pass into a cloud.
Internet of Things (IoT), 5G, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and many other advanced technologies impose requirements with which the normal centralized storages do not cope. The storage which liquidates numerous gaps between different models is necessary, on a centralized basis stores and controls different applications, reduces total ownership cost and increases service efficiency of digital platforms.
According to the statement of the developer, Huawei FusionStorage 8.0 allows one storage system to support block, file, object and HDFS protocols and also protocols of databases. FusionStorage 8.0 operates the mixed applications in all scenarios and during complete lifecycle of data – from formation and an abnormal research to analytics and archiving that provides free data movement and guarantees steadily high quality of service.
Convergence in five measurements
As noted in Huawei, the solution FusionStorage 8.0 assumes uniform deployment by means of convergent protocols instead of traditional separate deployment based on different protocols. It reduces total ownership cost by 30% and increases efficiency of use of resources. Thanks to crucial to convergent applications the solution FusionStorage 8.0 allows one storage system to support basic and customized corporate applications, and convergent clouds provide integration of peripheral, private and public clouds within one platform. Due to five convergent functions the solution FusionStorage 8.0 achieves an effective objective "one DPC – one storage", simplifies models of storage devices, eliminates difficulties in management, reduces costs of use of data and provides mobility and exchange of open data on an object and beyond its limits. Besides, the service of updating of new services, eliminates risks of interruptions in work and need of data migration.
The distributed storage for support of crucial applications
According to the developer, Huawei FusionStorage 8.0 is the distributed system of storage supporting crucial corporate applications, providing horizontal scaling of one cluster to 4096 nodes and tens of millions of input-output operations per second (IOPS). Thanks to industrial chips of memory and technology of acceleration FlashLink the solution FusionStorage 8.0 allows nodes to work with solid state drives more effectively that provides a delay at the level of only 0.5 milliseconds and high performance. Technologies which are suitable for the key operator databases and financial online applications requiring fast I/O-reaction ensure high-speed and stable functioning of crucial corporate applications.
Huawei claims that the solution FusionStorage 8.0, the including solution Huawei HyperMetro (active-active) with corporate systems of storage, provides almost absolute reliability (99.9999%) at the level of the solution for smooth operation in scenarios of use of virtualization and databases. Besides, FusionStorage 8.0 uses technology of asynchronous replication which supports "target recovery points" (Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs)) of the second level for the continuity of technology processes in data processing centers. The patent self-configured functionality of deduplication and compression of Huawei allows the solution FusionStorage 8.0 to provide compression ratio of data "5 to 1" even when using infrastructure of a virtual desktop (VDI) that reduces requirements to amount of memory.

As of June, 2018, thanks to technologies of Intel the solution FusionStorage of the next generation raises an indicator of input-output operations per second (IOPS) from 100 thousand to 200 thousand on one node, claim in Huawei.
2016: Start
On September 1, 2016 the Huawei company announced start of FusionStorage 6.0 service.
This solution is focused on a customer support in the solution of the possible problems arising at service migration in a cloud as it has performance and potential of completely decentralized, flexible and any, open and compatible architecture.
The distributed system of block storage of Huawei FusionStorage is created especially for infrastructure of cloud data processing centers. In software of FusionStorage the technologies of the distributed storage helping to organize hard drives and solid state drives of servers of x86 in large storages with providing the standard SCSI and iSCSI interfaces for applications of the top level and virtual machines are applied.
For ensuring effective block data storage in software of FusionStorage mechanisms distributed a hash - data tables of the routing distributed a cache memory, global balancing of loading, different algorithms of data protection are used.
