Rostelecom transfers to the control to third-party contractors a part of networks

The Maykor company, service provider in the field of outsourcing IT and business processes, became the main contractor of Rostelecom on the project of transfer on outsourcing of a part of networks in rural areas, told Vedomosti of people, close to Maykor. The person close to Rostelecom insists that Maykor not the only contractor of the project, but recognizes that today he won the most part of competitions on it. Today Maykor won the majority of the competitions announced by Rostelecom on service of local communication networks in rural areas, the representative of the IT company confirmed^[1].

It is about transfer on outsourcing linearly - technical workshops of communication (LTTs, service specific sites of networks in regions) in rural areas, it is told in the corporate edition "Vestnik Rostelekoma". LTTs are now transferred in the European part of the country, but soon also LTTs in Siberia and in the Far East will be transferred to service of the third-party companies, said in the edition. To service it is transferred 146 LTTs, and it is going to transfer about 1500 across all Russia. Thus, until according to the results of tenders for outsourcing less than 9% of the planned number of LTTs in territories with low demand are transferred, the representative of operator Andrey Polyakov tells. Maykor – among the contractors of the project who won competitions he speaks, but does not disclose details.

The project is called "Rural communication", Polyakov explains. The interdistrict centers of technical operation which service territories with the population less than 50,000 people got to it, it continues. A project objective – to lower operating costs of Rostelecom in the territory of small areas to provide its efficiency. Managers will concentrate the efforts on large localities, on the main thing for the operator activity – communication services provision, he specifies. The project means not only transfer to outsourcing of unprofitable/small LTTs in territories with low demand – the contractor will also have to optimize network and organize additional sales of products of Rostelecom, Polyakov says.
