"Pioneer" used a technique of information modeling of buildings in preparation of the project of the residential quarter

On September 6, 2016 PSS company announced participation in the project of BIM consulting at design LDC LIFE Forest in St. Petersburg, under the agreement with Pioner Group.

Project Tasks

For Pioner group the project of the residential quarter LIFE Forest – the first BIM project. PSS company within the project renders to the developer consulting services and provides technical maintenance by drawing up technical specifications^[1].

The AECOM company developed the concept and architectural appearance of the project. The choice of this contractor is caused, in particular, by the fact that at design the company uses technologies of information modeling of buildings and constructions.

Project Progress

Participation in the project on construction of the residential quarter LIFE Forest – not the most standard task. Our company most often performs directly implementation of BIM technologies and helps with creation of BIM models. Within this project we provided check of the BIM models which are already created by other company and interaction according to the scheme "the customer-the general designer-the contractor". As the tool allowing to provide check of BIM models on compliance to technical specifications the solution Solibri Model Checker which allows to find potential errors of the project even prior to installation and construction works was selected. The program allows to execute intellectual quality check of an information model of an object, to reveal collisions, to check compliance of model to requirements of the BIM standard and to take necessary information.

Project Results

BIM helps to minimize quantity of errors already at early stages of implementation of the investment and construction project. We can compare at a stage of formation of the concept the made project decisions which are already approved in terms of a kvartirografiya and in terms of designs of technical and first floors, with the project documentation. Thanks to BIM we saved a lot of time, having removed need of check paper 2D - drawings of designers and at the initial stage having counted all technical and economic indicators of the project. Solibri is a best tool for similar projects. It not only gives opportunities for intellectual quality checks of BIM models, but also allows to control project solutions, providing interaction of the customer and contractors. At this Solibri does not demand from the customer of installation of a set of software products. In this case the company designer works in Navisworks, but it was not necessary to implement this solution in Pioner Group. Thanks to Solibri it was only required to provide unloading of data in the IFC format which is supported by the majority of programs. Elena Rusina
