Task

Capacity and high-speed performance of the storage area network of the existing IT infrastructure for the predictable, managed and systematic development, protection of investments and cost optimization was required to increase administrations of the Government of Tula region by these purposes. The compulsory provision - import substitution and project implementation in the shortest possible time.

Project Description

The analysis of IT resources showed that the existing equipment became morally outdated and requires replacement. The state customer needed to construct a modern server framework and to create a common information space for effective work.

B of connection with expansion of services and increase in load of computer systems, the existing storage system ceased to conform to the increased requirements to capacity and available volume of the stored information.

It was necessary to provide the continuity of all provided IT services and to support new technologies and protocols. It was required to consider also new expectations of the guide of administration to depth of storage and volumes of significant information and also transition to electronic document management and new requirements for personal data processing of the Russian citizens. All this inevitably urged on demand for solutions for storage and information processing.

Specialists Servities carried out the analysis of the existing infrastructure, requirements of the customer, objective opportunities of creation connected with a configuration of the existing building and location of hardware premises. Taking into account requirements for fault tolerance, terms and the budget the detail design consisting of specifications of the network and server hardware, schematic circuits of its inclusion and the planned settings was developed and offered. This project underwent all approvals and was adopted in work.

Within tasks of import substitution the solution of the Russian company "Aquarius" (NT (" new technologies ")) - the Russian brand created as a result of OEM-cooperation between the Russian company "Aquarius" with the international company Hewlett Packard Enterprise was proposed).

What was received by the customer

The customer received data storage network segment which is characterized by high fault tolerance, performance and scalability.

  • Reduction of risks of temporary and financial losses
  • Possibility of accumulation of performance of a server framework in general
  • Reduction of risk of loss of information, violation of its integrity and availability
  • Centralized operation by servers
  • Increase in indicators of reliability and security of information systems
  • Reliable storage of backup copies;
  • Minimizing risks of a hardware failure owing to wear
  • Noticeable simplification of management of IT infrastructure and increase in speed of accomplishment of administrative tasks
  • Performance improvement on peak loads

Within the project it was delivered:

  • 2 storage systems and Fibre Channel switch
  • NT StoreServ 8200 more than 80 TV and with a performance more than 50,000 IOPS;
  • HT 2040 more than 20 TV and with a performance more than 8,000 IOPS.

Bce the equipment was brought together at the plant of the Russian producer "Aquarius" and set by specialists of the Tula "Center of information technologies".

The unrolled service contract on service of switches and DWH from NT (" New Technologies ") allowed the customer to get the fast qualified technical support in necessary timepoint.

The main objective of the project of upgrade of IT infrastructure put creation of the technology base for the predictable and managed information technology development in the government of Tula region, systematic development of information infrastructure, protection of investments and cost optimization on these purposes.

As a result of implementation of the large-scale project the organizational and technology base defining long-term development of a regional management system and informatization was created.

Upgrade of a storage system became for us an important step on the way of strategy implementation of development of IT systems of the government of Tula region. Now we can be completely sure of reliability of a storage system that is extremely important for processing of promptly growing data stream and support of new services. New DWH allowed to reduce considerably operating costs on system maintenance and to unload the staff of the government of the region, - Konstantin Volodin, the assistant department head of infrastructure services of "The center of information technologies of Tula region" says.
