HyperFS is the file system with support of block and file protocols.
On September 8, 2016 the Scale Logic company announced demonstration of a corporate system of file management of HyperFS in integration with HGST Active Archive System.
HyperFS represents the scalable, high-available global file system - it at the same time supports, both block, and file protocols, providing the high capacity inherent in SAN, and the possibility of dynamic horizontal scaling characteristic of NAS. When using together with the system of active archiving of HGST on the basis of object storage, the solution supports processing of amount of data more than 64 petabytes.
Representation of HyperFS for management of SAN, (2014)
HyperFS simplifies access to files for a wide range of applications, supporting access to files, and at the level of blocks, and at the same time systems under Windows, Mac and Linux. Irrespective of organization size or specifics of requirements of the companies for storage, HyperFS can process processes of data storage with the smaller number of cares.
A system supports:
- project management level for Avid, Adobe and Final Cut Pro
- archiving and backup for reliability augmentation of program assets
- it is compatible to more than 200 applications in the field of media
Supporting shared access to use and data storage using fiber-optical modules of DWH, a system can provide with a background the mode of direct fiber-optical connection according to needs of users. The application supports the FC SAN standard for data integration of the user and storage of different data.
High performance of input-output system, scalability, reliability and simple management allow to use HyperFS as clustered file system for:
- processings of video post-production,
- managements of digital media assets,
- stream media,
- cloud computing,
- analysis of research data,
- information processing from remote sources,
- scientific research and calculations,
- modeling,
- networks of digital video surveillance
- cloud storage systems.
