In the society of studying of the Amur region will digitize Vladimir Arsenyev's archive

In Primorsk edge department of the Russian Geographical Society (Society of studying of the Amur region) digitization of documentary heritage began summer of 2016. ELAR corporation for transfer to an electronic form of materials delivered the planetary scanner of ELARSKAN A2-400 in the organization.

"Thanks to acquisition of the professional scanning equipment work on digitization of documents from now on will be system", - the chairman of Society of studying of the Amur region Alexey Buyakov claims. According to him, it is necessary to transfer to a digital format of the card of the 16-17th centuries, the pre-revolutionary periodical press, photos and other documents of archive and library of Society of studying of the Amur region.

The archive of Seaside branch of the Russian Geographical Society is one of the oldest in the Far East. Exactly here the most complete V.K. Arsenyev's fund in the country contains. Especially valuable part of this meeting are traveling diaries of the researcher, his personal correspondence and draft copies of some works. Interest in heritage of the Russian traveler Vladimir Arsenyev, his scientific works, notes, literary creativity from professionals in different areas, enthusiasts local historians, journalists and historians does not die away today. And transfer to an electronic form of archive of the geographer will allow not only to preserve originals of sources, but also to expand to them access for audience. "Photos and documents from V.K. Arsenyev's archive will be digitized first of all", - Alexey Buyakov says.

The library of Society of studying of the Amur region is founded in 1884 and contains unique works of several generations of scientists and travelers – more than a half of fund make rare books. These editions in the organization will be scanned.
