Project Visual Code is a cloud platform for application development at the minimum programming.

On October 6, 2016 the Oracle corporation provided the cloud platform of Project Visual Code focused on support of creation and the publication of independent special applications or expansion of the existing solutions.

According to the statement of developers, the Project Visual Code platform will help customers to use library of components of the adaptive user interface and complete applications — available on Oracle Cloud Marketplace — for adding of functionality which can be embedded directly in their proprietary applications, an environment and the operating Cloud Oracle applications. Thanks to the minimum needs for programming and intuitive means of visual design, business users and nonprofessional developers can create applications necessary for them with the minimum participation of IT specialists, or absolutely without it.

Besides, the platform allows clients and partners to create a rich ecosystem of constructive blocks of modular user interfaces, ready applications on the basis of standard architecture. Offering means of mobile development the platform supports creation of the mobile applications working on devices in a standalone mode.

As a part of the Oracle Project Visual Code platform components:

  • Builder is the visual tool for creation and placement mobile and web applications using a development approach based on the browser, without programming. This version allows to create applications of reuse which can be exported and imported between clients. Besides, an opportunity to integrate UI components of reuse and external services is implemented.
  • UI Design System is the system of visual design supplementing modern layout schemes of elements and supporting adaptive approach for multichannel applications.
  • UI Component Architecture — effectively using the Oracle JavaScript Toolkit tools open source, it is possible to project components for reuse during creation mobile and web applications.
  • Business Objects — developers and business users can create applications using any service REST or effectively use this platform for simple creation of new objects for the purpose of the satisfaction of any special requirements to data. It allows to create own business objects and to define rules of check, or to use means of writing of scenarios in Project Visual Code for determination of any rule necessary for their company.
  • Oracle Cloud Marketplace — clients and partners can study, share and sell ready applications and also functional UI components with specific opportunities which all are created on the new Project Visual Code platform. Public directories on Oracle Cloud Marketplace allow partners and developers to open new revenue streams and to sell the components and applications, and private directories give to the organizations an opportunity to create an internal repository of resources for their sharing by different divisions.
