The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation completed upgrade of IT infrastructure

On October 11, 2016 the IBS company announced project implementation on upgrade of IT infrastructure of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and transfer of the Budget planning system in federal DPC.

Project Tasks

By the time of the beginning of the project the operating IT infrastructure of the ministry required the fastest upgrade.

At the end of 2015 in the city of Gorodtsa of the Nizhny Novgorod Region the second data processing center (DPC) of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and services subordinated to it opened.

Project Progress

One of features of the project - need to provide migration trouble-free in work of the systems of the state department and users of all federal authorities. For this purpose the contractor developed the actions plan.

The company held stress testing of the software of Budget planning on several virtualization platforms. Experts of IBS determined the platform parameters necessary for migration and the subsequent scaling of the computer system. Carried out works on modeling of migration and "rehearsal" migration using additional capacities of IT infrastructure of the ministry.

Within the project the IBS command filled engineering infrastructure of DPC in the city of Gorodets with the computing equipment, storage systems, network infrastructure, configured information flows between DPCs, ensured safety, eliminating risks of information leak and organizing protection against failures in work.

As a result of the performed works migration of a subsystem Budget planning is carried out to the shortest possible time without shutdown and a stop of work of a subsystem. The released IT infrastructure of the customer became a reserve site for a subsystem Budget planning.

As a result of upgrade a system will be able to service up to 15 thousand users at the same time.

This project is remarkable the fact that strategically important state system migrated from one platform on another without shutdown and loss of working capacity. At the same time scales of its use also considerably grew: from work at the level of less than 1 thousand users before one-time connection up to 15 thousand users.
