GUIT of the Omsk region implemented means of protecting of virtual infrastructure

On October 25, 2016 the Code of Security company announced product introduction of vGate-S R2 in IT infrastructure of Head department of information technologies and communication of the Omsk region. Implementation was executed by a team of specialists of DA Group.

Project Tasks

The management of GUIT of the Omsk region initiated the project directed to increase in level of information security of the organization.

Management has the distributed IT infrastructure as a part of which about 100 physical and virtual servers. By the beginning of the project protection of physical servers was executed by means of the product Secret Net. Security of virtual servers was maintained by means of the password protection provided by VMware company. Such approach did not provide protection against specific threats of virtualization and did not conform to security requirements of information of automated systems of class 1B.

Before the customer there was a problem of gain of access control to system management of virtualization and implementation of an information security product, reduction of the environment of virtualization in compliance with requirements of the Russian legislation. Analyzing offers in the market of the information security facility for virtual infrastructures, GUIT of the Omsk region stopped on the product vGate-S R2 from Code of Security company.

The solution corresponded to the customer's wishes in terms of functionality, it met the requirements of FSTEC of Russia to protection of the state secret and import substitution policy in general.

Project Progress

Project implementation is complete within a year. At the first stage pilot testing of a product on one of sections to the customer's IT infrastructure is held.

After that the decision for benefit of implementation of vGate-S R2 in all organization was made and implementation of the second stage of the project began. For October 25, 2016 a system works in the mode of day-to-day running.

Project Results

The choice of a product for us in many respects defined the principle of minimization of efforts: the solution has the clear interface and logic of operation. The solution vGate-S R2 allowed the customer to provide the high level of data protection in virtual environment and to fulfill all additional requirements to the used product. The organization received a scalable solution which with a growth of virtual infrastructure will allow to make necessary settings with the minimum labor costs.
