On October 25, 2016 the company Cityparking announced the "Parking Space of Rostov-on-Don" project where within public-private partnership the companies work "Cityparking" and "Rostov parking space".
Project Tasks
The authorities expressed the need to unload the historic center of Rostov in 2012. For the whole day of the street filled 250 thousand cars which more than a half parked with violation of traffic regulations.
In June, 2015 heads of the companies submitted investment projects to the head of administration of Rostov-on-Don Sergey Gorbanyu.
Based on the held competition, project implementation was transferred to the companies "Cityparking" and "Rostov parking space".
Project Progress
Traditional network services and technologies of Internet of Things are taken as a basis of the project: on 192 parking sections parking sensors Martin began to control a situation.
More than one thousand electromagnetic sensors create graphical representation about load of the downtown. The signal from a distributed network of devices gathers two LPWAN stations and goes to the server of management of parking space.
When the car leaves the parking, data on the vacant platform go to the operator and to information screens.
In April, 2016 a system began to be tested.
According to the statement of the press service of the company, at the end of September, 2016 in Rostov-on-Don implementation of the first stage of the "Parking Space of Rostov-on-Don" project began.
Project Results
For October 25, 2016 in Rostov 13 navigation online boards for drivers with pointers and dynamic information on quantity of empty seats are set. Signaling of sensors is serviced by two base stations.
Technologies of Internet of Things freed the road to buses and the well-known Rostov trolleybuses. "Parking space" — an excellent example of public-private partnership. Now guests and residents of Rostov-on-Don quickly and with comfort move on the unloaded historic center, and the means obtained from payment of parkings go to city treasury.
