Alfa-Bank selected the contractor for service of regional IT infrastructure. In July, 2016 the bank signed the contract with Maykor-BTE, "subsidiary" of the company of IT outsourcing MAYKOR, largest in Russia. After start at full capacity it will be one of the largest complex projects with bank for Maykor-BTE. The contract is expected three years, the parties do not open its amount.
Under the terms of the contract, the Maykor-BTE company will have to service personal computers of employees of the bank, software, the server hardware and office equipment. Besides, the service packet includes carrying out scheduled maintenance and diagnostics, installation and setup of the equipment, a software update. Earlier this work was performed only by engineers of bank, explained TAdviser in Alfa-Bank.
The term of accomplishment of requests for service – from 2 to 8 hours depending on the priority set by bank for this or that case. Requests with a high priority – on maintenance of systems, critical for work, – mean arrival of the engineer on the platform within 2 hours regardless of time of day and a day of the week.
Existence of the built management system for service projects, existence of the completed warehouses ZIPS (spare parts) in the territory of 111 cities, staff of the qualified service specialists who annually undergo certification, and experience of management of service works on federal outsourcing contracts helps to satisfy all conditions of SLA (Service Level Agreement) to us, – Maxim Nikitin, the managing partner of Maykor-BTE noted. |
In October, 2016 on maintenance 55 offices of Alfa-Bank and 277 sales points of banking services are delivered. The geography of the outsourcing contract covers 80 regions of Russia, reported in MAYKOR.
In total across Russia at Alfa-Bank now about 737 offices and 1480 sales points, reported in Alfa-Bank. Thus, on outsourcing slightly less tenth part of all offices and the fifth part of all sales points gave service.
Today we implement several tens of similar projects for the largest banks. While the project of IT outsourcing for Alfa-Bank is at a start stage – objects are transferred to service gradually. We expect that after start at full capacity it will be one of the largest. Now in our portfolio the largest is the contract with Raiffeisenbank – it also integrates support of IT and service of industry bank infrastructure, – Maxim Nikitin told TAdviser. |
On the new IT strategy Alfa-Bank was going to reduce outsourcing volume. If earlier in some areas use of outsourcing at Alfa-Bank reached 100%, then since 2017 is going to reduce its share to 30-50%, the head of the Information technologies block Martin Piletski in an interview of TAdviser in October, 2016 reported (to read in more detail).
The director of regional offices of the Information technologies block of Alfa-Bank Pavel Zharikov noted concerning the contract with MAYKOR-BTE that this option was for them more profitable.
As told TAdviser in MAYKOR, more than a year the pilot project of outsourcing when Alfa-Bank transferred small amounts of works to several service providers lasted. And only after that competition which won against Maykor-BTE was announced.
We long enough look narrowly at IT outsourcing as the instrument of decrease in non-core costs of bank and we look for reasonable balance between involvement of the external companies and preserving of own resources and core competencies. Today we consider for ourselves profitable and convenient to transfer to the uniform contractor a complex of housekeeping tasks of IT infrastructure in regional network. According to him, when choosing the supplier the bank was guided by existence of necessary resources and competences, by experience of cooperation with the contractor, by positive experience of implementation of similar projects in country scales.
