Star Media purchased the equipment of DWH

On November 8, 2016 the Raidix company announced expansion of the software license Raidix for Star Media film studio. Delivery of the complete solution for storage and video processing was executed by FeelSystems company.

Project Tasks

Work with a large number of formats and parallel projects demands from the company of the debugged organization of storage of material and high-speed simultaneous access to data for video-tape editing. Considering the round-the-clock appeal to resources, active user base and exponential growth of amounts of data, the Star Media company needed upgrade of DWH for solving of tasks of virtualization and effective processing of critical business operations.

For processing of video content without loss and delays, the customer selected RAIDIX Media storage system within the complete solution from FeelSystems.

Project Progress

The contractor delivered in Star Media two DWH of Raidix for post-production and support of IT infrastructure of studio.

Project Results

The total volume of storage within a hardware and software system was 96 TB with a possibility of further expansion by means of additional disk shelves. For ensuring full-fledged fault tolerance in the solution RAID 7.3 with threefold parity is used.

The compatibility of program components with standard component parts h86-64 helped to optimize Raidix arrays under specific objectives of the company, to reduce the total cost of system maintenance.

Use of Raidix ensured simultaneous operation with multiple 2K/4K flows at high speeds and, as a result, reduction by 4 times of a set-up time of projects to air. Implementation of a hardware and software system on the Raidix platform provided high data availability and optimal performance at accomplishment of business challenges of the customer.
