On December 7, 2016 PSS company announced a BIM technology implementation project in project company Olimps. Feature of the project - remote execution of works.

Project Progress

The project on implementation of technology of information modeling of buildings and constructions in the Latvian company Olimps began summer of 2016. Consulting services within the project were rendered by the Russian engineering and consulting company PSS. During the project it was required to train specialists of the company of the customer in work in the environment of information modeling in a sheaf RevitCADWorx++Navisworks, to provide the work documentation on the basis of an information model, to create library of elements, to develop the execution plan BIM- the project.

Feature of the project - all consultations employees of the contractor executed far off. For communication with specialists of Olimps used a video conferencing, video instructions with answers to questions prepared. For consultations external separate sections specialists were attracted.

In the course of work on the project specialists of Olimps underwent remote training. Training was provided by the certified specialists of PSS.

Project Results

Development of the project documentation of the assembly point of gas on the European regulations became the BIM project which the Olimps company executed with consulting support of PSS. Blueprint stage - by analogy to a stage of RD on the Russian regulations. Feature of a designed project in placement of a set of technology equipment - partially outside, partially in technology premises of the building of the assembly point.

During the project the information model of the assembly point is prepared. Using an information model a graphic part of sets of the project documentation according to architectural, constructive, engineering sections is executed and issued, necessary specifications in Revit (the sheet of a consumption of steel, the specification of windows, doors, the equipment) are received.

Integration of information models of the project into Navisworks executed in Revit with the section of TH (technological solutions) executed in CADWorx is carried out. Coordination was carried out to Autodesk Navisworks for accomplishment of audit and viewing a picture in general. By means of external consultants the library of standard elements, templates is created, the execution plan of BIM projects is developed and tested.

Remote maintaining the project – rather unique practice. On the one hand, we regularly advise our clients and partners via the Internet. Another – completely remote implementation meets seldom. Therefore presence of one contact person from the customer – the BIM manager with whom we mainly also interacted became an important point of project implementation. I consider that we coped with the task: in 3.5 months of work we managed to create in Olimps company a necessary ecosystem for work in BIM technology.

BIM develops promptly in all countries now, and Latvia – not an exception. Our management made the decision on need of creation of an ecosystem of information modeling for the company successfully to compete in the market. We are grateful to PSS company for work in so extraordinary conditions – we are happy with results and we hope that further our competences in BIM will only develop.
