On December 7, 2016 Raidix company and its Korean partner ITServices announced upgrade of a hardware and software system on the RAIDIX platform in city administration Kvanmyon (South Korea).
Project Tasks
For security and monitoring of traffic in the territory of the city more than 200 HD cameras are used, and the network of video surveillance extends. Data from cameras come on several media servers to DPC and are redirected on two ATTO switches connected on optical fiber of 8 GB / with when using managing software of Raidix.
Development of network of video surveillance designated city administration of a task:
- flexible scaling,
- performance improvement
- decrease in total ownership cost system.
Upon transition from video formats of the previous generation to HD Kvanmyon's administration faced a problem of expansion of the operating infrastructure. The IT service of the customer considered adding of shelves of storage and purchase of expensive industrial arrays, but as a result stopped on the offer of Raidix company and its Korean partner of ITServices.
Project Progress
DWH on the RAIDIX platform provided several advantages, including the increased data storage density, economy on the equipment (JBOD 4U60 instead of JBOD 2U12, 7U instead of 22U+) and direct connection on optical fiber.
Project Results
At the heart of DWH the software technology of Raidix which manages clusters of storage works and provides functionality for providing optimal IOps and capacity. The solution supports SAN with shared access, horizontally scalable NAS and the main interfaces – the Fibre Channel, iSCSI and InfiniBand. The hardware and software system RAIDIX includes two failsafe controllers of high availability working in the Active/Active mode.
DWH of RAIDIX extends by means of JBOD containing 60 disks and consolidating capacity 244 TB in one shelf. The RAIDIX technology supports up to 64 disks in one RAID or up to 254 disks on one pair of controllers in the Active/Active mode, maintains failure up to 3 disks in one RAID group (the patent RAID 7.3 level) or to 32 disks in an array (patent RAID N+M).
RAIDIX provides elastic scalability with the minimum investments that is important for IT service Kvanmyona which is going to broaden the territory of a covering with a video surveillance system and three times to increase the number of cameras in the years ahead.
