The Sberbank of Russia is going to purchase the software of the American company Veritas. The corresponding quotation request with the initial cost of $38.7 million (about 2.39 billion rubles) was published by bank on the portal of state procurements on December 16, 2016[1].
Licenses for the platform, unlimited by quantity, for backup and data recovery of NetBackup and also the solution for management of the program configured HyperScale storage systems are required for the largest Russian bank. Besides, the customer needs management systems for data storage of InfoScale for different types of servers (Linux x86, RISC Unix, Win x86), solution for archiving of Enterprise Vault and the managed software platforms of NAS Veritas Access.
The term of use of the solutions Veritas Access and Veritas HyperScale is limited for 740 days. For other systems the period of use is limited to validity period of the exclusive right of the owner.
In spite of the fact that the quotation request was announced only on Friday December 16, on December 20 the bank will already stop order taking for participation. Consideration of proposals of participants should will take place on December 21, and summing up is planned for December 30.
At the beginning of 2015 Sberbank held the large tender for acquisition of software of Symantec Veritas Storage Foundation for management of diverse network attached storages. The cost of purchase exceeded $50 million (more than 3.5 billion rubles).
In September, 2016 Veritas conducted procurement of technical support services of software products "Gazprom inform", the subsidiary service IT company "Gazprom". The list of products which required maintenance included solutions NetBackup InfoScale, ApplicationHA and others. Total amount of the agreement exceeded 150 million rubles.
