2016: Implementation of Smart IDReader

On December 20, 2016 the company Smart Engines announced implementation of technology Smart IDReader for recognition of identity documents, and bank cards in mobile application of the operator car-sharing YouDrive.

Now users of YouDrive can distinguish passport details of the Russian Federation and all types of car driver licenses. At registration it is enough to show documents in the application to the phone camera for 1-3 seconds during which Smart IDReader will recognize all necessary information. After that data are automatically entered in the corresponding fields of a registration form.

For a card binding to the account at registration in the application users of YouDrive are offered to scan data of the bank card the smartphone camera. The functionality of the solution of Smart Engines company allows to recognize at different lighting number, validity period and a name of the owner on all types of bank cards. Key difference is the possibility of recognition of not embossed cards which were widely adopted in Russia and are not supported by the western systems of recognition.

Recognition in mobile applications using Smart IDReader is performed in a video flow in real time. At the same time images do not go to the server as all calculations are carried out on the device.
