The system of automatic optimization of network - SON technology (engl. Self-Optimizing Network - selfoptimizing network) for automation of routine transactions in networks of mobile operators.
Main objectives of SON:
- registration and maintenance of relevance (removal not used, adding new) lists of the neighbourhoods (relations) between base stations of the operator for an exception of breaks upon transitions,
- operational balancing of loading between base stations with its growth.
- management of a covering, thanks to technology is possible to manage slope angles of antennas, providing an optimal coverage of cells.
- identification and elimination of different problems of a configuration – incorrect identifiers of cells, the conflicts, errors of sectors (when cells are connected in inappropriate antennas), etc.
The technology provides response to growth of voice and package traffic during the periods of the greatest load of network. Within day there are about 100 thousand adjustments of the radio parameters influencing quality characteristics of the provided services. At emergence of short-term emergency situations, there is a redistribution of loading between the neighboring base stations.
