In December 2016, Fujitsu announced its participation in a project to create a unified information system in Finnish health care. The Japanese corporation will provide its cloud technologies.
According to reports, ZDNet Fujitsu received a contract worth 32 million euros for the development of a project called Apotti, the purpose of which is to combine medical and social security systems. This Finland ERP platform will focus data from patients' medical records and other clinical information, which will allow the creation of various medical services. A single system will connect medical institutions, increase the efficiency of their work and optimize the existing one, IT infrastructure the authors of the project hope.
By the time the platform is launched, 29 hospitals, 40 clinics and 50 social security departments in Helsinki will be connected to it, covering more than 1.6 million residents - this corresponds to about one third of the Finnish population.
Apotti is not only about data storage, but also about system monitoring IT infrastructure , support and security. The platform will be based on - and - PaaS SaaS Fujitsu solutions. The project is planned to be completed by the end of 2018.
