In Holding Afanasy audit of Software Asset Management is booked and use of Office 365 began

Specialists Alan IT implemented the SAM Baseline project in Holding Afanasy and prepared infrastructure for migration in a cloud (SAM Cloud-Ready). In May, 2016 IT heads of Holding Afanasy made the decision on project implementation on management of program assets (Software Asset Management). The partner from this project selected ALAN IT company.

"All legal entities of the company participated in the project that allowed to understand not only questions of licensing, but also to obtain exact data on each division". - Grechushnikov Pavel, deputy manager of IT department of Holding Afanasy.

IT infrastructure of Holding Afanasy includes more than 500 PCs and 10 servers.

The project was carried out in two steps. At the first stage SAM Baseline which pursued the aims of the internal analysis of IT infrastructure was carried out. Exact data on the number of the PC in divisions and a clear understanding of strategy of licensing became results of this project. Due to growth of business of Holding Afanasy, specialists ALAN IT suggested to use Office 365 on a subscription. Besides, the need for creation of corporate mail was revealed, and specialists ALAN IT suggested to use Exchange Online.

These recommendations served as justification for the second stage - the analysis of readiness of infrastructure for migration in a cloud (SAM Cloud-Ready). This project allowed to reveal the exact number of the machines ready to migration and the number of machines on which it is necessary to make the corresponding settings. Besides, during the project the question concerning corporate mail was sorted. According to the results of the project the optimal rate for Office 365 was picked up.

The outputs received during the project offer prospects for implementation of cloud subscriptions in Holding Afanasy. Use of this software will allow to standardize jobs and it is essential to reduce costs for maintenance.
