Project Progress
Company KurerServisEkspress"" was tasked with licensing reconciliation, software namely, compared to the one purchased ON Microsoft with the one in real use. LLC was chosen as the SAM partner. Alan IT
ALAN IT specialists also analyzed the general state of SAM policies by key indicators of the optimization model - SOM.
Project Outcome
The project revealed the exact number of missing licenses, and a number of infrastructure solutions were proposed. Among other things, a list of outdated software has been provided, the support of which has been discontinued, and the use of programs can lead to cybersecurity risks. As a result of the project, Alan IT specialists developed key recommendations aimed at increasing the maturity of SAM processes in the organization. The implementation of the recommendations will increase the ability of the organization to centrally manage IT assets, comply with the licensed purity of the software used, and reduce to zero the possible risks associated with the lack of rational management of IT assets.
The project covered all 13 legal entities of the organization. Data collection was not carried out in branches, since licensing takes place according to a single standard and each office has up to 5 PCs.
As a result, all the necessary licenses were purchased, the task of license verification of the software was successfully solved.
"Our main task was to understand the software used, assess possible risks, and eventually develop an optimal licensing scheme. After completing the SAM project, we met with representatives of the financial department and specialists of Alan IT. Together, we have developed an optimal licensing scheme, in the course of work, talking about the advantages of certain solutions. Our interaction resulted in savings of approximately 30% on the anticipated purchase of software. " |
