Lenenergo summed up the results of an open competition to create an integrated information security system as part of a project to prepare for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.[1]

Lenenergo creates a comprehensive information security system for 105 million rubles

The competition received 2 applications from Russian Telecom Equipment Company and VOLS-VL Management. During the evaluation stage, the company "VOLS-VL Management" received the most points, ahead of the competitor in terms of qualifications and terms of service provision. The initial contract price was 110.4 million rubles, while the value of the contract with the winner was reduced to 104.9 million rubles.

A comprehensive information security system will be created at 23 Lenenergo facilities. The company plans to ensure technological monitoring and safety of energy facilities that feed the infrastructure of the sports event. In addition, monitoring of compliance with the established safety regime at energy facilities and in their areas of location should be ensured, as well as safe information interaction with the services of the Rosseti situation and analytical center should be organized.

Among other things, the system should provide basic protection of active LAN network equipment from unauthorized access, implement the ability to detect and prevent computer attacks on the enterprise infrastructure, protect against the spread of malicious software over communication channels, etc.

One of the requirements of the customer is the inclusion in the system of software and hardware components collected at Russian enterprises and certified in accordance with the information security requirements of the FSTEC of Russia and the FSB of Russia.

All work on the project, starting with the inspection of facilities and ending with acceptance tests, had to be performed within 1 year from the date of conclusion of the contract. However, according to the winner's proposal, this period was reduced by almost six months. As a result, the project should be completed by the end of July 2017.
