Anywayanyday, the international online service for purchase of air tickets and hotel booking, expressed in November, 2015 the intention to create the platform which would allow to prevent fraudulent activity in the field of e-travel, and invites other players of the industry to participation.
Fraudulent, or frodovy (from engl. fraud) transactions — a serious problem both for e-commerce in general, and for the online tourism industry in particular. The following types of a fraud are most widespread in Internet business:
- The person consciously pays flight discredited — i.e. illegally purchased — the bank card.
- So-called friendly fraud (friendly fraud): the person does return (chargeback) of the ticket on which he case already made flight. Such cases represent special exclusive complexity and for all participants of process, and for law enforcement agencies.
- The fair client involuntarily becomes the participant of fraudulent transaction: the air ticket which it purchases is without his permission paid with the discredited card. For example, when such card is used by aviacash desk to which the buyer addressed.
Each seller has a database about users who were noticed in frodovy activity: repeatedly tried to enter CVV codes of bank cards or to undergo 3DS-authentication or regularly buy air tickets on the discredited cards. At the same time the data set about the buyer in e-travel industry including, among other things, passport data, the phone number and e-mail allows to identify the user swindler unambiguously.
Anywayanyday suggests players of e-travel to integrate these databases. The tourist online agency expresses readiness to undertake all technical work: create within 2 — 3 months the platform for the offered antifrodovy system and support its work at a starting stage. In the long term this system will independently exist as partnership which financing will be provided with membership fees.
Shukhlin Evgeny, the CEO of Anywayanyday, comments on this initiative as follows: "Need of such system ripened long ago: all industry suffers from fraud, not least because of a position of international payment systems which do not protect properly players of e-commerce. Besides, we decided to undertake this project because we have examination in this area: we developed own solution which effectively fights against a traffic fraud. We consider that if all who are engaged in online tourism integrate the databases about swindlers and will create a single antifrodovy platform, we at last will receive control in this situation. Existence of such system will set the potential swindler thinking: hit in 'black-list' of the tourist online agencies or carriers can or is strong limit, or forever close a possibility of air flights regardless of the reason of getting into this list".
The offered antifrodovy system will accumulate data on unreliable buyers — similar to the practice accepted in banking where creditors create bases of unreliable borrowers. And the more sellers will take part in this project, the less will remain online resources in which swindlers will be able successfully to carry out the frodovy attack.
Anywayanyday is going to hold negotiations with other tourist online agencies and large airlines to be convinced that the offered system is demanded by the industry. In case of support from players of the market and their readiness to participate in creation and work of the antifrodovy platform — in particular, to provide the databases on swindlers — the tourist online agency will start development.
