Sharp Image completed upgrade of DWH

On January 17, 2017 the Raidix company announced an implementation project of software-defined DWH of Raidix in the Pakistani studio post-production of Sharp Image.

Project Tasks

The Sharp Image company actively used digital formats 2K/4K and resource-intensive applications of the class DaVinci Resolve from Blackmagic Design and needed a storage system which would provide high data availability, optimal capacity and a possibility of simultaneous operation with content.

In an analysis result of solutions, the IT service Sharp Image selected software-defined DWH of Raidix which undertakes functions of the controller of metadata and provides elastic scalability of infrastructure. For maintenance of capacity at the level of 16 GB / with Sharp Image used adapters of Celerity FC from ATTO Technology. At the heart of hardware technology of the chassis of high density from SuperMicro and 24 disks SATA 4 TB with a general capacity of 96 terabyte under control of Raidix software.

Within pre-sale preparation specialists of Raidix tested software, used by Sharp Image, on the selected equipment and recorded required capacity and not reduced performance.

Project Progress

By means of the Raidix web interface helps to customize easily storage system, to collect statistics and to create reports for effective monitoring of performance and operational troubleshooting. Raidix helps to configure a system under specific objectives of the customer and to vary parameters of access to a read and write.

Project Results

Implementation of Raidix technology helped the customer to provide the maximum speed of a read and write and to save on purchase of expensive RAIDs. Raidix manages nodes of storage and performs functions of the server of metadata. The Raidix technology supports up to 64 disks and provides high scalability of architecture of storage.

Thanks to Raidix software our specialists received performance sufficient for processing of the biggest files without delays and loss of the personnel.
