Responsive Retail Platform (RRP) is technology for integration of API, the equipment of retail, software and sensors.

On January 17, 2017 the Intel company announced the platform for retail of Responsive Retail Platform (RRP). It is intended for connection of the diverse technologies used in retail trade and simplification of development and deployment of software and services from area of Internet of Things (IoT).

According to the ZDNet edition, RRP it is developed to integrate API, the retail equipment, the software and sensors in a uniform chain[1] a standardized way[1].

Intel platform core - a complex as a part of the low-voltage processor with a possibility of processing of RFID tags and the expanded set of sensors. RRP is developed taking into account connection of sensors and sensors of third-party producers. The platform will be able to monitor movement of goods in shops, accumulating information on the user preferences. For this purpose the developer turned on in the structure of RRP the analytical PaaS-platform — it will service cloud applicaions of third-party software developers.

For January, 2017 the Intel platform for retail works on gateways under control of processors of a line of Intel Core i7. In plans - to expand the range of the supported RRP devices with IoT-gateways on the basis of chips of Xeon.

Intel declared plans in the next five years to invest in the projects connected with retail, $100 million.
