Orange Business Services will help Dobroflot to save on fuel using Internet of Things

2018: Equipment by the IoT-solution on control of fuel consumption

The Orange Business Services service provider announced on May 22, 2018 agreement signature on equipment by the IoT-solution on control of fuel consumption and operation of engines of courts of Dobroflot Group. Thanks to it crews will be able to control with a high accuracy the mass of fuel in the online mode, preventing commercial losses because of errors in its measurement when bunkering, to exclude inappropriate consumption of fuel and also to optimize its expense depending on weather conditions and location of the vessel. The planned fuel economy when using the solution will make about 10%.

The IoT-solution will help Dobroflot Group to optimize expenses on fuel

Pilot implementing solution will take place on the transport Progress refrigerator. The predicted economy on costs of fuel will make about 1.95 million rubles for a month of navigation. After approbation the solution will be set in 8 courts of the customer, including the Vsevolod Sibirtsev mother ship.

The solution was developed in the Russian competence center of Orange in the field of navigation together with partners from Tekhnodar Group, the Russian system provider of control of fuel consumption and satellite monitoring of transport. In the current project the koriolisovy counters flowmeters differing in the smallest error of measurements in comparison with ultrasonic and rotor models are used.

2017: Maritime VSAT implementation

On January 18, 2017 the international service provider Orange Business Services announced implementation of the managed solution Maritime VSAT in courts of Dobroflot group.

Project Results

Under the terms of the five-year agreement Orange will connect to satellite communication of 14 courts of Dobroflot Group, having provided guarantee speed in 2 Mbps with a possibility of expansion of the channel within the project of creation of the single protected corporate network for all company assets: land objects and the fleet belonging to it. At the same time all equipment, necessary setup and service works and also providing a communication channel and implementation of technology of WAN optimization of traffic is performed within the uniform contract with the fixed monthly payment.

With Maritime VSAT technology from Orange, all divisions of Dobroflot Group will be able to work in a single virtual corporate network at the sea and at the land. It does possible start of any corporate applications and also allows crew to use all range of communication and entertaining services without considerable restrictions that allows to create more comfortable working conditions in long swimmings. The solution opens opportunities for potential implementation of IoT-projects, for example, of augmented rReality glasses for remote instructing of the crews developed by Orange.

We are one of leaders of fishing industry of Russia and we are proud of the fact that we deliver to clients only a natural product of the extra quality. Production and processing of fish in long swimming is a hard work for all crew, but modern ICT technologies is capable to facilitate it to some extent. For this reason one of our main tasks is implementation of new technologies of communication in our courts.
