On January 24, 2017 the Accenture company announced development of the concept of client experience for shops of food products in partnership with Coop Italia. The Avanade company took part in project implementation.
Project Progress
In the shop located around the Milan university in Bikokk the innovation conditions for obtaining information and shopping are created. The combination of physical and digital aspects allows to recreate the atmosphere of the traditional market under the open sky, complementing it with digital solutions which provide necessary information on products and help to be guided with shop.
Accenture helped Coop to create an information architecture of supermarket. In cooperation with Avanade – Accenture joint venture and Microsoft – the Accenture command implemented information and technology infrastructure, analyzed and developed points of interaction of the buyer and the seller. As a result there was flexible building block solution based on a cloud platform of Microsoft Azure which can be scaled easily on a large number of shops.
After success and positive reviews about the concept of "future supermarket" at the Expo Milano 2015 exhibition we at once started implementation of our intention in life. Thanks to examination in the field of digital technologies, Accenture and Avanade helped us to develop client experience in grocery store based on the digital approach allowing to satisfy with an easy and intuitive way needs of buyers for information, interaction and practicality. Project Results
Interactive commodity stands and smart shelves create conditions for formation of client experience, providing individual approach to each buyer due to providing a broad spectrum of data on products. The project integrates a number of the technological solutions which are initially developed by Accenture company for Coop specially under Expo Milano 2015. Solutions are based on Carlo Ratti's developments – professor of MIT and the head of Association Carlo Ratti.
The supermarket of the future includes:
- Interactive stands show-windows: In supermarket products are provided at big interactive stands – rather simple movement of a hand that on the screen the complete information about a product, including the producer, nutrition value, availability of allergens, waste recycling methods, similar products and actions was displayed. Such method of obtaining the added information became possible thanks to Microsoft Kinect sensors which use motion sensors for recognition of gestures of the buyer.
- Vertical regiments: In new shop the traditional layout chart of shelves is implemented in style of the touch application to help buyers to be guided with categories of products, to sort and look for the most suitable products under the set criteria, to learn about actions and also to browse information. As a result the buyer receives the detailed description of a product which it is going to purchase.
- Data visualization in real time: Being in shop, the buyer can browse on the big screen in real time visual information on values of the Coop brand, special offer and recipes of day, posts from social networks (for example, from the Coop page on Facebook), hits of sales and also the announcement of actions on different types of goods. All this allows to organize additional interaction with buyers.
