On February 14, 2017 the Orange Business Services company announced use of a hybrid data network, technology for connection of courts and the international network of offices of the company to satellite communication of Maritime Connect in IT infrastructure of the operator of shipping and container loads of Arkas Line.
Project Results
The created architecture helps the customer to expand business, using resources of provider who provides reliable, secure access to global networks, the set SLA level and global technical support.
Network connection through an Internet channel integrates 11 sea vessels and 25 land objects. It allows Arkas to manage Internet traffic flows, controlling its security, increases convenience of work to employees where they were. Implementation of technology provides global use of security policies and corporate rules of the company.
Access to network is onboard provided due to Orange Maritime Connect technology, it is integrated into corporate network of the customer that allows to provide access for members of crews of vessel of Arkas to crucial applications being in the sea, including the service software of the application for creation of online reports, databases, e-mail, the Internet and communication of VoIP.
Connection of the fleet to satellite communication helps to improve data transmission between courts and land divisions of the company, allows to use online services which the geolocation, transfer of electronic state-of-health data of the fleet and monitoring of consumption of supplies on each vessel is among.
Our main goal was to find the solution which is based on the developed ICT infrastructure which will allow to integrate all our fleet into corporate network, having increased its operational efficiency. Due to use of advanced technologies operational readiness of courts was increased and working conditions of crew members are improved. Besides, the vessel equipment allows them to interact with the company headquarters for effective solution of security issues and ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements.
