Meeza began the project of creation of "the smart city"

On March 2, 2017 the Orange Business Services company announced the multimillion contract which it signed with MEEZA company on creation of "smart services" and applications for the region of Msheireb in Doha.

Project Tasks

Around Msheyreb the project of "the smart city" is implemented. It is supposed that as a result of reconstruction of the area more than 500 thousand sensors connected and managed by the set of applications will work there.

The project of reconstruction of the area will include residential complexes, commercial offices, shops and hotels. All works will be carried out in six steps and will be completed during 2018. Area of influence of the project more than 800 thousand m ².

Orange should supervise creation of district command center by "the smart city" which will ensure functioning of "smart buildings" and services, including video surveillance systems, access control to buildings, the fire warning, street lighting, automatic collecting of garbage and "smart parkings".

Project Progress

Orange developed and put into operation a number of "smart applications" for the PC and mobile devices, with different functions for guests and residents of the area:

• systems of the appeal to municipal services,
• information pointers
• services of online payments.

The technology of centralized operation by services on duty, infrastructure for a geolocation in buildings is developed and is maintained the systems of intellectual management of power and accounting of resource consumption.

Within the project ICT infrastructure for all area is developed. Network infrastructure, a management system of two DPCs and desktop PCs, the selected resources for the IP telephony is its part.
