The Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan implements MIS

On March 7, 2017 the BARS GROUP company announced the beginning of pilot implementation of a medical information system in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Project Tasks

The project is implemented jointly: Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, World Bank.

At the initial stage system implementation in organizations of Kazakhstan - the Ust-Kamenogorsk city hospital No. 1 and the Center of mother and the child of Ust-Kamenogorsk is planned. It is supposed that the implemented system will become one of the basic IT solutions providing automation of support of medical care in the republic.

Expectations in the project. Medical information system:

• will help the organizations of health care to increase efficiency and accuracy when reporting,
• reduce unproductive working time of work with documentation,
• increase quality of delivery of health care due to information support of medical activity,
• reduce number of medical errors.

Electronic document management will simplify maintaining the clinical record: data will be stored in the single database and are available at any time. As a part of the solution the modules providing automation of the main sections of work of medical institutions from registration of the patient before introduction of these diagnostic inspections and medical acceptance will operate.

Among functionality there is MIS:

• maintaining electronic clinical records
• distribution of patients in turn,
• control of a consumption of medicines
• quality evaluation of medical services according to the clinical protocols used in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The medical information system created within the project will allow the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan to increase efficiency of medical personnel.
