Control Center connectivity management is the platform of management of communication.
2017: Control Center 7.0
Control Center 7.0 meets business needs for the increased flexibility of management thanks to the new multilevel IoT platform which provides to the enterprises different options of satisfaction of the specific needs irrespective of, at what stage of creation of IoT they are. This new platform is combined also with a new set of premium services which meet the requirements which were not satisfied before in the industry connected with monetization and security of IoT.
Though the number of the companies making investments in IoT in all markets continues to grow, recent researches show that 60% of initiatives in the field of IoT are stopped at a stage of creation of a pilot project. It means that the enterprises still do not cope with the most important problems of IoT, including the need for bigger flexibility and the strengthened protection and also capability to master new scopes.
Business functions of Control Center 7.0:
- enhanced capabilities: level of the Control Center Advanced platform satisfies customer needs, using complex systems for which additional opportunities, including the developed means of protecting, automation and analytics are necessary;
- premium services: creation of the first two premium services Cisco compatible to Control Center allows clients to remove two before unsolvable business problems of IoT. The Threat Protection & Smart Security (TPSS) service constructed based on Cisco Umbrella provides the correction, specific to IoT, protecting from the attacks using a malicious code and a phishing. Other service under the name Traffic Segmentation supports different types of models of generation of profit. Cisco Jasper service providers can adapt premium services that they met specific customer needs;
- support of LPWAN: Control Center 7.0 expands possibilities of the platform, including provides the world scope and scale thanks to support of cellular networks and also allows to use low-power devices due to podderzhkineskolky LPWAN technologies, including NB-IoT and LTE-M.
The AT&T corporation, being Cisco Jasper service provider, integrates these additional opportunities that IoT met requirements of a broad spectrum of the industries. The platform will be called AT&T Control Center-Advanced.
Control Center 7.0 solves problems which the companies in the field of IoT face now:
- multilevel protection: expanding the safety features which are available in Control Center, users receive now multilevel protection (including the closed user groups, two-factor authentication, "white lists" and another) which allows to reveal and solve the known problems;
- cooperation: integration with Cisco Spark gives to users an opportunity to work jointly on problems with attached devices, allowing them to reduce search time of solutions and to manage costs;
- expanded analytics: new reports on historical trends of behavior and use of devices allow users to take actions concerning problems which influence performance, costs and security;
- support of low-power devices: Control Center 7.0 is the first commercially available IoT platform which supports device management of IoT through cellular networks, NB-IoT and LTE-M networks to provide a large number of scenarios of their use.
Now Control Center 7.0 has compatibility with the Cisco IoT Operations Platform platform which integrates Connection Management, Data Delivery and Fog Computing in the finished end-to-end solution. It supplements the Cisco DNA portfolio focused on the next generation of networks with the new security levels, analytics and automation.
On March 13, 2017 the Cisco Jasper company announced support by the Control Center connectivity management platform of NB-IoT technologies.
The technology of narrow-band communication of NB-IoT (Narrow Band-IoT) is accepted by consortium 3GPP as standard for low-power networks LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Networking).
It is supposed that its use will promote development of Internet of Things, at the same time it is predicted - the number of attached devices by 2023 will exceed 3 billion.
The NB-IoT technology maintained by GSMA Association — the reliable, economic solution for communication of inexpensive IoT-devices. Using the operating infrastructure of LTE, NB-IoT provides low power consumption and a wide scope. It is expected that NB-IoT will promote change of business models in the industries which deal with "smart" metering devices, the "smart" cities, "smart" parkings, automation of buildings, accounting of tangible assets and a remote agrotechnology.
