Lenovo Enterprise Cloud designed for SAP HANA

2017: Announcement

In March, 2017 the Lenovo company announced a cloud service for users of storage system and data processing of SAP HANA. The product received the name Lenovo Enterprise Cloud designed for SAP HANA, says the Chinese vendor.

It is created to help clients of SAP to unroll and start business applications based on HANA (for example, analysis systems of data in real time) in a scalable cloud environment. Service is started in data center on high-end servers of Lenovo System x3850 and x3950 (X6 line), the System x3650 model as the server of application programs is also used.

At first the solution Enterprise Cloud designed for SAP HANA will be available in China, since the first half of 2017. In this country Lenovo will construct all necessary infrastructure for work of a cloud service in data center, will be engaged in its service and also management and client support of the database and SAP applications of HANA.

By March, 2017 SAP has about 12 thousand clients in China. The company cooperates with Lenovo since 2010.

Lenovo notes that the agreement with SAP opens the new HANA sales channel for the Chinese company. Lenovo is already one of the biggest customers of SAP in Celestial Empire and manages powerful workloads using HANA in the Pacific Rim.^[1]

As the Chinese cloud market grows extremely quickly, Lenovo has an opportunity to increase the volume of server business and to change the attitude to the company as towards the producer of personal computers — the analyst of IDC China Kitty Fok says. — In 2016 Lenovo became the leading equipment supplier using HANA in China therefore we expect active promotion of a cloud service in the market.
