2020: Implementation of cognitive functions of automation of networks

On September 15, 2020 the Nokia company announced the updated cognitive software for self-organizing networks (Self-Organizing Network) which will give to telecom operators opportunities of automation of 5G networks, minimization of participation of the person and increase in operational efficiency.

According to the company, the updated software of Nokia for SON networks liquidates the traditional operator console and replaces it with an object-oriented dashboard (dashboard) allowing to solve problems in real time and to increase labor productivity. This dashboard allows all interested persons – from company management to marketing specialists and engineers – it is easy to see how in SON networks their problems are solved.

During the project aimed at the proof of this concept at one of North American operators, the cognitive software of Nokia for automation of SON networks increased operational efficiency by 80%.

Using concepts of machine learning, such as clustering, classification and training with a reinforcement, the software of Nokia manages operation of the standard and adapted modules and gives the chance to automatically detect, classify and solve network problems and to use the acquired information for further improvement of the work. In it the main difference of the software of Nokia from the competing solutions consists. As a result handmade volumes are sharply reduced and difficult tasks of the technical analysis which should be solved that who does not use cognitive solutions of Nokia are facilitated.

In addition, end-to-end observation of workflow and accounting of the purposes in SON networks allow Nokia company to optimize work of networks according to ultimate goals of the operator.

Cognitive functions give the chance to update the software automatically, without participation of the operator which does not need to send requests for upgrade manually. At the same time the software solution Nokia is programmable. The developer kit (Software Development Kit) and the open interfaces API is for this purpose used.

The cognitive software of Nokia for SON networks has control function by network segments, independent of solutions of specific vendors. This function automates management of lifecycle of wireless resources and optimizes their use. Using machine learning and automation the software solution Nokia for SON networks can optimize each network segment separately.

2017: Description of Eden-NET

For March 14, 2017 the product helps mobile operators to automate and use the capacity of the operating networks, transforming them to a 5G.

Being the platform of centralization of SON, Eden-NET automates transactions of a set of domains, eliminating difficulties in networks with several suppliers, different technologies and multilevel networks.

The hardware and software system SON Nokia has the functional graphical interface by means of which in real time it is possible to manage infrastructure – to control changes of traffic, to set priorities, to adjust network functioning.
