The multi-modal biometric identification platform RecFaces ID-Me is created using various biometric technologies Toshiba and allows you to receive, store and process various biometric features of a person, such as: photo-image of a face, 3-dimensional image of a face, vein pattern.
The RecFaces Id-Me platform integrates human identification algorithms based on a photo image of Toshiba Corporation, a 3-dimensional face image, and integrates the vein identification system. More than 10 algorithms of various biometric features have been tested (photo, 3D, vein pattern, etc.).
The accuracy of the algorithm developed by Toshiba specialists and researchers is achieved by compiling complete mathematical models, rather than analyzing individual points and distances, which allows you to confidently identify a person, despite age changes or additional elements on the face (glasses, rosary, beard, scarf, headdress, etc.) Thanks to Toshiba technologies, the Id-Me platform can be used both in solutions aimed at instant one-time identity identification and for systems using retrospective data accumulated in various corporate arrays.
The possibilities of using the created Id-Me platform:
- Confirmation of identity and control of access to various information systems.
- Transport passenger safety and identification.
- Control of fans' passage to sporting events.
- Control and management of public opinion.
- Control of public gatherings.
Ensuring the safety of citizens under the Safe City program.
Based on the RecFaces Id-Me platform, industry solutions have been created for the banking sector:
- biometric credit pipeline to minimize credit risks;
- free authentication of bank employees and customers by face image;
- identification of clients in a video stream from a face image in order to control interaction and prioritize service.
At the beginning of 2017, work is underway to create solutions:
- issuing funds without cards using biometric verification;
- Verification of payment using a face image (payment without cards)
- biometric authorization in remote banking channels.
The Id-Me platform is used by a number of Russian and foreign companies in the interests of customers from the banking sector, the transport industry, the public sector and retail, who use it in access control systems, in identifying employees and customers, as well as for solving marketing problems.
Key benefits
- Own development team with experience in creating a multi-modal biometric platform, with the ability to quickly integrate the required algorithms and biometric features;
- A team of engineers with competencies in the use of various Russian and foreign algorithms, as well as various equipment in order to create biometric identification systems;
- Availability of analytical competencies and technological tools to assess the performance of algorithms on the market;
- The ability to quickly (taking into account the current readiness) and effectively solve the bank's applied tasks in the field of biometric identification, based on the experience of implemented projects in the field of security systems, video analytics and biometrics;
- Experience and availability of the necessary licenses of FSTEC, FSB to perform work to ensure information security measures, as well as certification of AIS security.
2017
Grant from Microsoft
In April, Microsoft awarded RecFaces a grant of $120 thousand. Over the next two years, these funds will be spent on access to the Microsoft Azure cloud computing platform, which will further improve reliability and expand the functionality of Id-Me.
Exhibitions..
At the FinTech Russia 2017 conference held in March 2017, RecFaces specialists demonstrated the operation of an ATM with biometric identification by face. The conference participants were able to literally study the entire authorization process, which includes entering a face model into the database, identifying using a standard ATM video camera and displaying a personal greeting on the screen. Traditionally, the event was attended by representatives of banks, telecom operators, payment systems, microfinance organizations, insurers, new financial services, developers of artificial intelligence systems, brokers and investment companies.
In March 2017, during the MIPS exhibition at the Pelco by Schneider Electric booth, the Id-Me platform worked as part of the VideoXpert Video Management Software (VMS), which allows you to control video surveillance systems and security equipment. VMS enables users to make timely decisions and significantly reduce reaction time. Integration with specialized add-ons, including the Id-Me platform used for biometric identification, is carried out thanks to the open VMS architecture.
Dormakaba has presented at its stand an access control system used at sports facilities, transport hubs and other high traffic facilities. The Id-Me platform is used in this system to identify visitors and passengers. At the company's booth, a turnstile control system for airports was modeled, which, when checking in for a flight, takes a picture of the passenger's face, and when boarding, identifies it using biometric data.
