Rostelecom in the Rostov region constructed 2000 km of optics within the project on elimination of digital inequality

The director of the Rostov branch PJSC Rostelecom Sergey Alkhasov on the round table organized by Komsomolskaya Pravda Publishing House told about it in March, 2017. A subject of a round table – development of a communications infrastructure in the region. Areas Herman Lopatkin and chief operators of communication of Don took part in discussion the minister of information technologies and communications Rostov.

Implementation of the first and second stages of the project on elimination of digital inequality in the region is complete. In 157 localities of area Rostelecom set points of collective access on Wi-fi technology. In total the company constructed more than 2000 km of fiber lines of communication. In total within the project which is implemented jointly by Rostelecom and the regional ministry of information technologies and communications, is planned to connect to the Internet 394 localities of the Rostov region with the population of 250-500 people.

Herman Lopatkin, minister of information technologies and communications of the Rostov region: "Program implementation in remote districts of the area allows us to create a common information space in the region. We aim to make digital technologies available to each resident of Don region. It is an important point in quality improvement of life in the village".

Within the third stage in the current year Rostelecom are going to complete installation of points of collective Internet access on Wi-fi technology in 22 small localities of the Rostov region.
