Samsung: Contactless Companion Platform (CCP)

Contactless Companion Platform (CCP) is the contactless computing platform, it is intended for different applications and form factors.

On March 23, 2017 the Samsung Electronics company together with partners - Smartlink and Ingenico announced start of the Contactless Companion Platform (CCP) platform. The platform is created on the basis of the smart card chip with the double interface.

Using CCP the user can execute monetary calculations by means of any contactless device with such function, for example, of a special smart card, a wrist bracelet, a charm, the mechanical clock or a smart ring^[1].

The concept of the CCP platform for digital calculations proposes to users solutions for money transfer and additional parameters of security, for example, reality and arrangement of the selected device. It is possible to transfer money using the application (Android and iOS), the computer and payment terminals.

The CCP platform can integrate digital monetary calculations with points for loyalty, vouchers, maps for trips, tickets, etc. that allows users to use different contactless services using several devices at discretion.

The Contactless Companion Platform platform shows results of active cooperation of Samsung company with the industry of security and its aspiration to increase quality of everyday life using the innovation technology concepts. Contactless payment solutions are not considered as a serious alternative to cash payments in many situations. At the same time, the CCP platform allows the industry to overcome a set of obstacles which exist.
