2017: Announcement

At a February conference on information technologies in health care (Health IT Conference; HIMSS 2017) the Siemens Healthineers company announced the global Digital Ecosystem platform thanks to which users will be able to get data access, to applications and services of medical institutions and producers worldwide.

The digital ecosystem integrates such information as x-rays, results of laboratory diagnostics and medical documentation. By March, 2017 the platform contains several million data writings.

Thanks to Digital Ecosystem it is possible to understand, for example, activity of use of the equipment for visualization in clinic or to define radiation doses. The platform will allow specialists to interact and communicate with the colleagues worldwide and to bring benefit to suppliers of medical services by means of experience of Siemens Healthineers in the majority of clinical areas, says the producer.

We consider that digitalization and the related creation of network of suppliers of medical services is important to go to the cost focused health care. Big Data should become smart and data. Together with Siemens Healthineers Digital Ecosystem we provide to our clients much deeper understanding of an essence of key components which create both clinical, and operational value — doctor Arthur Kaindl, the head of service department of digital health care in Siemens Healthineers notes.

Digital Ecosystem uses open API interfaces at the expense of what software developers, producers of the iatrotechnics and medical institutions can make the contribution to development of the platform. The companies will be able to create and offer the applications and technologies on the basis of the new platform.^[1]
