Base 8

On March 31, 2017 the Siemon company provided a fiber optical system of Base of 8 Plugs and Plays.

It enters a line of the solutions Plug and Play. In its structure:

• cabinets for fiber optics,
• optical cartridges,
• plates with adapters through passage,
• cords and optical segments assembled.

Multimode 40-and 100-gigabit network solutions (40GBASE-SR4 and 100GBASE-SR4) are used in data processing centers in the trunks connecting network switches. In them 8 optical fibers are used: 4 work for acceptance, 4 for transfer, everyone provides the speed of 10 Gbps or 25 Gbps, respectively. When using the connectors MPO/MTP on the basis of 12 fibers, for transfer of applications 8 fibers are used, and a third of the available light guides are not used.

The Siemon Base 8 system provides to 100% use of fibers without transitional cords and additional cartridges. a 8-fiber system – economic and effective solution for the existing applications 40GBASE-SR4 and 100GBASE-SR4. In composition of Base 8:

• the optical cabinet of Siemon FCP3 providing the high density of placement of ports. In a cabinet the Base 8 cartridges equipped with three 8-fiber ports MTP from the back and 24 LC adapters through passage about front are mounted; in such configuration each fiber provides the transmission rate of 10 Gbps. In a cabinet it is possible to set adaptor plates of MTP that will provide compatibility with existing applications of 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps.

In composition cable assemblies of Base 8 MTP-MTP and cords for switching of trunk subsystems and connection of active equipment.

The majority of the existing and future optical applications use amount of fibers, multiple 2 or 8, including the single-mode and multimode applications 200 and 400 of Gbps developed now. Use of the Base system of 8 Plugs and Plays – an economic method to pass to high-speed optical applications in data processing centers. Customers can use Base 8 cartridges and duplex cords of LC for support of the existing 10-gigabit systems, and in the future to replace them with adaptor plates and cords of MTP to pass to applications 40, 100 Gbps and even above. Components of the Siemon Base 8 system are issued in single-mode and multimode options, in normal execution and with the reduced optical losses for multimode classes OM3/OM4. In segments and cords the corporate optical cable RazorCore of the reduced section is used; diameter of a cable in cords of MTP is 2 mm.

In composition hybrid cords of Base 8 MTP-LC, they provide an alternative to optical cartridges for support of 10-gigabit applications. Cords of BladePatch Base 8 MTP-LC are offered. In them construction of a mobile shaft which movement allows connection and disconnection of connectors from the adapter without the need for clicking by fingers on latches is used. It does BladePatch cords convenient in use at dense location of optical ports.
