Rostelecom: Platform of the information and library centers

The platform of the information and library centers - technology for the organization of a regional educational ecosystem.

On April 18, 2017 the Rostelecom company announced start of the platform of the information and library centers. The platform is intended for creation of a regional educational ecosystem and includes wide functionality for the organization of e-learning.

On the basis of the platform the digital educational content focused on all levels of an education system of Russia is built.

The platform is created according to requirements of the Concept of development of the information and library centers with methodical support of scientific pedagogical library of K.D. Ushinsky and the Russian of school association of libraries based on the open source software.

The information system can be integrated with the electronic diaries and magazines implemented in the educational organizations for providing mechanisms of end-to-end authorization of users.

The platform of Rostelecom represents the complex automated information system including modules and services, among which:

• digital library,
• single system of creation of the reporting in electronic form,
• player of electronic content
• etc.

Input on the platform via the uniform portal. The platform supports the unified access and work with different types of electronic content: textbooks, books and periodicals, educational resources. The playback capability of electronic content on personal and tablet computers in online and offline modes is provided.

Today the Russian schools and universities actively use modern technological solutions: electronic diaries and textbooks, interactive boards, online courses, video surveillance and many other things. The role of modern school library essentially changes – it turns into a media library, and together with it also the role of the librarian – actively participating in formation and filling of the educational program changes. Rostelecom sees demand in digital content and offers them a new product - the platform of the information and library centers. It is Wednesday for an educational ecosystem with ample opportunities of use of remote educational technologies and also instruments of creation of network structure of digital libraries.
