Planetary Scanners (Russian Market)
According to the corporation Elar"," the process of reorienting Russian customers to domestic planetary scanners, which began in 2014, has been completed. Against the background of the fall of the ruble and the wave of import substitution over the past two years, the domestic market has experienced a steady increase in the share of Russian-made equipment. By 2016, domestic planetary scanners already occupied a record 85% of the market. The trend continued last year - according to the results of 2016, the share of Russian devices increased to 87%, Elar reported in April 2017. CNews
2016
According to surveys of customers of leading IT companies, the choice in favor of domestic devices is determined by the affordable price and the possibility of direct service from the manufacturer. "Based on the service monitoring of the main scanner manufacturers, it can be seen that the quality of Russian scanning equipment has increased significantly in recent years, equipment failure rates are at the global level," said Elar representatives. - An important factor influencing the growth of the market share of domestic devices was the process of renewal of the outdated fleet of scanning equipment by Russian companies, which increased significantly last year. This is primarily due to the fact that by 2016 the average age of the planetary scanners used increased, and many foreign samples of 'first wave' equipment were too expensive to operate and no longer fully satisfied the requirements of customers. "
However, despite import substitution, the volume of the Russian market for planetary scanners in 2016 decreased by 26% compared to 2015. If 2015 planetary scanners were sold in 196, then, according to the monitoring of government purchases and information from commercial companies, last year - 145 copies.
The decrease is mainly due to the lack of centralized procurement with a large number of scanners. For example, in 2015, only Rosreestr acquired 72 devices, the company noted.
Last year, there were no such large purchases. According to Elar, the largest supply was 32 planetary scanners for the Ministry of Defense, which are intended for educational institutions of the department. In money in 2016, the Russian market fell by about 34% compared to 2015.
Customers
Traditionally, planetary scanners buy the most in the public sector, and 2016 was no exception. Thus, the combined share of government customers, according to the corporation, is 72% of the total number of scanner buyers. State customers are: state-owned companies, cultural institutions, educational institutions, municipalities, etc. In general, last year the public sector accounted for 61 purchases, when as a commercial only 21.
At the end of 2016, sales in libraries, archives and museums increased. Decreased in municipalities and universities. The commercial sector and industry remained the same. Meanwhile, an export direction was added. In particular, Elar last year began supplying its ElarScan planetary scanners to North America and Europe.
In addition, the number of single purchases increased in 2016. This is due to the influx of customers from industries that had not used planetary scanners before. An example is the banking sector, where in 2016 there were several deliveries. Bankers turned to planetary scanners as a more productive and convenient alternative to office MFIs when scanning large volumes of sewn documents, the company explained.
Models
In 2016, the leader changed in the Russian market of planetary scanners. According to Elar estimates, it was the domestic scanner ElarScan A2, which shifted the champion of the last three years, another "Russian" - the scanner Elar PlanScan A2V, which is located on the second line of the sales rating.
ElarSkanov in 2016 sold a total of 69 copies, and Elar PlanSkan A2V - 47 pieces. The remaining models were sold in small editions: the Russian Optima-V and SyntharexMaster, once popular foreign Atiz, Zeutschel, SMA found their customers infrequently, they noticed in the corporation. The exception among foreign-made scanners was devices of the Italian brand Metis, which were sold 9 pieces. Mostly these scanners were bought by cultural institutions.
According to Elar, the most affordable model in the Russian market was ElarSkan A2, the price of which starts from 440 thousand rubles. In turn, the Elar PlanScan A2V scanner is the most affordable scanner with a CCD scanning system in the A2 format, its cost starts from 1.2 million rubles.
In general, sales of all major market players decreased in 2016. At the same time, the share of domestic producers increased by 2% and by 2017 is 87% of the Russian market, the corporation said. Russian customers almost completely abandoned foreign equipment and everywhere prefer Russian products.
At the same time, at the end of the year, there was a tendency to receive requests for updating old scanning equipment and re-sales to current customers. Planetary scanners are still widely used in cultural institutions. In 2017, sales growth is planned in commercial organizations and industry, which see planetary scanners as a more effective replacement, in terms of productivity and reliability, of traditional office equipment.
