International airport Kaluga

History

2015

On May 25, 2015 there took place the ceremony of transfer of the Kaluga airport by the General contractor to operation of JSC International Airport Kaluga.

2014

The first technical flight was performed on December 18, 2014 by UTair airline by the airplane Boeing 737-500.

2013

In 2013 the positive decision of state examination on reconstruction of the airport and permission to the beginning of works is received.

Construction works at the airport were conducted from November, 2013 to May, 2015. In short terms the runway was recovered (length of 2200 meters, width of 45 meters.), air terminal complex, the rescue service building, a hangar for small aircraft and other infrastructure of the airport are built.

2009

In 2009 the property of the airport is transferred by the order of the Government of the Russian Federation to the regional possession for the purpose of its complex reconstruction.

2008

In 2008 according to the Order of Rosaviatsiya it is excluded from the State registry of civil airfields of the Russian Federation.

2001

In 2001 on an absence reason of financing it is closed.

1993

In 1993 airfield one of the first in Russia was incorporated.

1978

In 1978 the first passenger run Tu-134 (Kaluga-Sochi) was accepted.

For 20 years regular flights to the cities of Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, the Baltics and the Crimea were performed here. The annual passenger traffic made from 500 to 2 thousand people. The runway 2200 meters long allowed to accept the TU-134, AN-24, AN-12, AN-26, YaK-40 airplanes.

1970: Creation of the company

The Grabtsevo airport is put into operation in Kaluga in 1970. It was used for basing of light and agricultural aircraft and implementation of transit runs according to the schedule of Aeroflot.
