Amadeus IT Holding implemented IaaS on the OpenStack platform

On May 10, 2017 company VMware, Inc. announced implementation of a corporate private cloud on the VMware Integrated OpenStack platform in IT infrastructure of Amadeus IT Group. The project is implemented for support of initiatives of digital transformation of business of the customer.

Project Tasks

To service the growing needs of internal and external customers, Amadeus was required quick access to resources and IT services, end-to-end automation for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), support of native cloud applicaions of the next generation and high availability of applications and services. Satisfying these requests, as a basis for the cloud the company set the software from VMware.

Project Results

The IaaS-platform of the company ("infrastructure-as-service") is organized on the basis of VMware Integrated OpenStack, VMware NSX, VMware of vSAN and VMware vSphere. Being a supporter and the project participant with the open code, Amadeus selected OpenStack for creation of the platform with a possibility of agile development.

Amadeus uses VMware NSX for the distributed logical routing and the distributed internetwork protection of network according to all IaaS-platform. VMware Integrated OpenStack gives the basis providing uninterrupted availability of applications and services, a possibility of use of the vSphere functions - vMotion for reduction of a downtime of workloads. VMware Integrated OpenStack allows Amadeus to dispose of the available resources, competences and tools for implementation of the OpenStack environment, management and updating without the need for services of external consultants.

As a result of transformation of a data processing center of Amadeus increased service rate of internal and external customers.
