GE Healthcare delivers to Egypt the advanced medical equipment for $25.8 million

In May, 2010 the GE Healthcare company announced the beginning of the project on equipping of the Egyptian hospitals the new equipment. The cost of the contract is $25.8 million.

Under the terms of the agreement, GE Healthcare will deliver about 700 units of the advanced iatrotechnics more than in 200 hospitals of Egypt. Among them — the new platform for visualization of cSound (it is designed to improve ultrasonic examinations of bodies of a cardiovascular system), the SIGNA Explorer MRT-scanner and the device for introduction of Carestation 620 anesthesia (it is expected small offices). It is necessary to execute the order of the company until the end of 2017.

By May, 2017 already more than 400 different GE Healthcare devices are received by the Egyptian medical institutions. The company delivers solutions for treatment and diagnosis of oncological, neurologic and cardiological diseases. Some equipment GE Healthcare which is purchased by Egypt was never used earlier in local hospitals.

In addition to supplies of equipment, GE Healthcare more than 1200 doctors, technical specialists and nurses will render services of training.

Egypt began cooperation to improve the state health care in each region due to early diagnosis and treatment of diseases. According to estimates of World Health Organization, by 2017 82% of all death in Egypt and 67% of premature death fall to the share noninfectious diseases.
