On May 15, 2017 the Red Hat company announced deployment of the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform platform for business applications and BMW Group services.
Project Tasks
In automotive industry from IT infrastructure it is required to support internal processes of the enterprise, to ensure reliable and smooth functioning of digital services. In BMW Group most of clients of the company as the cars equipped with the ConnectedDrive system connect the driver and the car with a number of corporate applications and services uses such services. They provide to the driver the information on the car, undertake functions of the assistant and the guide, provide remote access to a car.
BMW Group felt the need for the available and convenient hub for dynamic scaling of the existing applications and services, implementation of projects the accelerated rates.
Project Results
BMW Group developers preferred Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. A system facilitates integration with already available stacks of technologies, saving investments into IT and at the same time accelerating transition to modern cloud environments of execution of applications.
Reorganizing applications on container microservices on the Red Hat OpenShift platform, BMW Group had an opportunity to scale applications in response to splashes and recessions of loading, providing uninterrupted service.
