On March 28, 2019 the company "CIS Group" informs that Microsoft SQL Server 2017 received the certificate (No. 4098) FSTEC Russia. The document is issued for 5 years and works till 2/28/2024.

This certificate confirms that the Microsoft SQL Server of 2017 in editions Enterprise Edition, Standard, Developer, Web, Express with Advanced Services is DBMS with the built-in means of protecting from NSD to information which is not containing the data which are the state secret conforms to the requirements for security of information set in TU 5021-003-29176085-2018.

This certified software product, at accomplishment of operating instructions, is intended for data protection in GIS to the 3rd class of security inclusive and also – in ISPDN to the 3rd class of security inclusive for relevant security risks of information of the 3rd type.

On April 21, 2017 the Microsoft company provided Community Technology Preview (CTP) 2.0 - preliminary release of SQL Server of 2017. The release is prepared for Windows and Linux. One of significant properties of a system - integration of the Python language.

Users had an opportunity to start Python-scripts, to build in the Python code SQL Server databases, including it as stored procedure of T-SQL. It allows the Python code to be developed in a working environment with data which it will process.

Users will have an opportunity to set other implementations of a programming language. Application developers can call stored procedures with a script, use the Python and R models at the same time in one application.

In a core of SQL Server DBMS 2017 there is a graph database — it is useful in such areas as predictive analytics and Internet of Things (IoT) and adaptive plans of requests.
