Raidix ICE - A HSS of long data storage on robotic DWH of Panasonic. Development is focused on use in the museums.
On May 22, 2017 Raidix and Panasonic companies Russia announced a hardware and software system - a storage system for the museums Raidix ICE.
RAIDIX ICE is the solution for average and large archives expected amounts of data from 100 TB to several petabyte. Among advantages of this DWH:
- Long-term archiving and the platform for hybrid storage ("cold" and "hot" data);
- The cost-efficient solution, reduction in cost of ownership of a system in the medium and long term;
- Wide functionality of managing software (fast RAID, caching, reconstruction of data "on the fly");
- Managing software, included in the register of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation.
As a part of a complex optical disks (Blu-ray Disc with a capacity up to 100 TB and Archival Disc with a capacity up to 300 GB) with a possibility of vertical scaling to 2 PB of information are used. Use of information media of this type will help to provide storage time of data up to 100 years.
A system is controlled software of RAIDIX and allows to store the "hot" (often used) and "cold" (archive) data within one configuration.
According to founders of Raidix ICE, a system will help the museums to avoid losses of information and to reduce system maintenance cost in the medium and long term.
