Specialists of JSC Angstrem announced in May, 2017 completely domestic kantilever. This small part is the basic measuring element of atomic and power microscopes and quickly wears out. Development not only will provide the scientific organizations by kantilever, but also will allow to fulfill technologies of creation and production of elements of microelectronic mechanical systems (MEMS).

Specialists of JSC Angstrem developed a kantilever

Kantilever is a basis of any scanning probe microscope. Successful work of a microscope in general depends on its qualities.

The Angstremovsky kantilever represents the rectangular basis with the beam acting from it, (micron) 30 micrometers wide and from 95 to 125 microns long. On the free end of a beam the probe - the small silicon needle which is made by method of anisotropic etching is located. Height of a needle is 10-15 microns.

The main consumers of new products are developers of nanotechnologies and specialists of scientific laboratories as at full-time employment with atomic and power microscopes it is necessary to change the probe 2-3 times a month.

Kantilevera can work as in a contact, and contactless scan mode.

Main advantage of Angstrem is the wide range of kantilever and their competitive price. The approximate cost of a product will be 10-15 dollars apiece, against 18-20 dollars at foreign competitors. In Russia about 100 atomic and power microscopes, and only several companies which are irregularly made by kantilever for them. After working off of production the production volume of kantilever will be determined, but capacities of Angstrem company will be able to provide all scientific laboratories of the country. Test samples will be ready by the end of this year.

Except ensuring needs of domestic scientists, the release of kantilever gives the chance to fulfill production technologies of MEMS-devices (accelerometers, motion sensors, gyroscopes, barometric sensors). Angstrem already completed the research work (RW) on creation of the accelerometer. Through a short period Angstrem will be able to provide national producers with domestic MEMS-devices.
