ER-Telecom and the Administration of Saint Petersburg announced strategic partnership

On June 1, 2017 during the 21st St. Petersburg International Economic Forum of JSC ER-Telecom Holding, the national operator of information and communication services, and the Administration of Saint Petersburg signed the agreement of intent in the field of project implementation on creation of objects of telecommunication infrastructure of the city.

The ER-Telecom Holding company in cooperation with the Government (Administration) of St. Petersburg is going to implement in the Northern Capital a number of the actions aimed at the development of telecommunication infrastructure of the city which Petersburgers and guests of St. Petersburg will be able to use. Besides, the parties are going to develop programs of cooperation, "road maps" and also to organize the working groups for the solution of important issues.

"Active development of digital economy in the cities is impossible without creation of modern telecommunication infrastructure. The signed agreement between "ER-Telecom Holding" and the Administration of Saint Petersburg confirms the fact that today we pursue a common goal — to provide inhabitants and numerous guests of the Northern Capital with high-quality information and communication services. We are sure that our cooperation will not only promote strengthening of social and business infrastructure of St. Petersburg, but also will become the catalyst of further development of the innovative technologies of the city" — Andrey Kuzyaev, the President of JSC ER-Telecom Holding comments.

The agreement was signed for an indefinite term and became effective after signing of the document by the Governor of Saint Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko and the President of JSC ER-Telecom Holding Andrey Kuzyaev within the 21st St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

For "ER-Telecom of Holding" projects in St. Petersburg — the next step on the way of development of the Smart city model which is used in many cities of the world. The company already keeps several large projects in the territory of the Northern Capital. So, in St. Petersburg the network covering at once several districts of the city is started large-scale by Wi-fi. The general covering of network makes more than 10 sq.km. Besides, the company organizes the system of video monitoring which will become one of crucial elements of the general structure of security of St. Petersburg in the run-up to the large-scale sports events — competitions of the Cup of Confederations and the FIFA World Cup of 2018.
